When it comes to silk boxers it pays to be clear, because very different fabrics are sold under the same word. This page holds both, and here is the difference.

Mulberry silk: the real thing

Mulberry silk comes from silkworms fed on mulberry leaves. Its long, even fibres make a smooth, lustrous and very light fabric that handles temperature well and is gentle on the skin. It is the material of the LUGINO mulberry silk boxer, our finest piece.

Cool silk and ice silk: silk-effect microfibre

Boxers sold as «cool silk» or «ice silk» are not silk: they are silk-effect microfibre, a very fine synthetic fabric that feels close to silk. They are easier to wash, dry quickly and often have a sporty or seamless cut, in packs of 4, 5 or 10. More styles like these are among our microfibre boxers.

Washing and sizes

Wash mulberry silk by hand or on a delicate 30 °C cycle, without softener, and dry it in the shade; microfibre washes at 30 °C and dries in a few hours. The exact composition is listed on every product page, together with the size guide. To compare with cotton and bamboo, see all men's boxers.
