Men's striped combed cotton dress socks: what you get
There's no mix here: you choose one of the six patterns and every pair in the pack is the same. The combinations are «stripes orange navy blue yellow», «multicolour stripes», «stripes mustard grey», «stripes blue orange yellow», «stripes black grey red» and «stripes red navy blue», each in a pack of 5 or 10 pairs.
If you want to switch patterns during the week, take two 5-packs with different stripes instead of one 10-pack.
A quick guide: «stripes red navy blue» and «stripes black grey red» are the most discreet under a dark suit; «stripes mustard grey» works with warm browns and beige; «multicolour stripes» and the combinations with orange and yellow are for when you want to be noticed.
Which size to choose
They are one size, for shoe sizes EU 40 to 46, so they're a good choice if you have larger feet and find standard socks too short. At 40 or 41 the sock will feel softer on the foot; from 44 to 46 it fits more snugly. If you wear a 38 or 39, this style may wrinkle at the heel.
They also make an easy gift: with one size you don't need to know the exact shoe size, just that he wears a 40 or above.
Combed cotton or ordinary cotton
Combed cotton goes through an extra step that removes the short fibres and keeps the long ones. You can feel the difference straight away:
- a smoother yarn with less fuzz;
- a more even knit that makes the stripe colours stand out;
- more strength at the heel and toe.

How to wash them
Machine wash at 40 °C, inside out, no bleach, and line dry. Washing them inside out protects the stripes from rubbing against other clothes; patterns with red are best washed with dark colours the first few times. The 10-pack gives you enough for two weeks at the office.
